Western Cape Anti-Eviction Campaign Press StatementTuesday 19th February 2008 3:15pm DELFT, CAPE TOWN – Doctors at the Delft day hospital are refusing to treat residents who were shot between five and hours ago at close range with rubber bullets, and plastic coated metal bullets.
These include a three year old child who was shot in the leg and foot and who is in agonising pain.

Update:
Though most residents who were shot arrived at the hospital before 11am, none of them were treated until lated in the afternoon. However, all residents who went to the hospital were all eventually treated.
The mother of the three year old child who was shot, however, has been complaining that her child did not receive adequate attention and now has a fever. The mother also claims that while the hospital treated the foot wound, they did not find the second welt on the child’s back.
