A GROUP of Mitchells Plain Town Centre traders, set to be evicted from a market undergoing an upgrade, have won a temporary reprieve until the end of next month.
The Concerned Hawkers and Traders Association has cried foul over the apportioning of trading bays by the City of Cape Town in the upgraded market.

But Paul Williamson, of the city’s department of economic and human development, countered that they had to be moved because the walkways and pavements were becoming congested.

The traders said they would continue to resist the evictions.
