Symphony Way informal settlers met with City of Cape Town officials on Tuesday to discuss their possible eviction.
The meeting came a week after the Western Cape High Court ordered both parties to engage in further talks before it made a final decision on whether or not to grant an eviction order.

The squatters settled along Symphony Way in early 2008 after they were evicted from homes in Delft which they had illegally occupied.

Community leader Ashraf Cassiem told Eyewitness News there were several issues that needed to be addressed.

“What the court has ordered is that we must talk about the relocation; the timing of the relocation, the timetable of the relocation and any other matters that we agree to discuss.”
